halloween

once a year a great event occurs
little boys and girls dress in costumes
going around to houses
to get candy to consume

they dress as witches vampires and goblins
and walk to houses far and near
some people say aww how cute
others pretend to shudder in fear

this happens every october the 31st to be exact
kids find this holiday divine
what could be better than getting free candy after all
but it usually ends in the PM at the stroke of nine

then the kids head to their homes
they empty their bags to look at the goods
this is when the real demons come out
wondering should we scare them?yes we should

unseen,into houses they go
they enter kids dreams that they haunt
even the considered king of halloween needs some fun
its the grim reaper his scythe sparkling,his face white and gaunt
